Art Group
About
A small, relaxed and informal monthly art group for anyone who enjoys making things but struggles to actually get round to it.
Each month, you’ll have two hours of dedicated creative time – time that’s already in the diary, so there’s no need to decide what to make or gather lots of materials yourself.
There’s no formal teaching and no expectation that you need to be particularly ‘arty’. Each session offers a simple creative activity to have a go at, with the freedom to make it as simple or as involved as you like.
What do we do?
Each session includes a simple creative activity to have a go at. Activities might involve drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking, journalling or using materials in slightly unexpected ways.
Some activities may be ideas I’ve come across and want to try; others might come from ideas shared by people in the group. The aim is to keep things varied and give everyone the opportunity to experiment without having to commit to a particular style or way of working.
You can make the activity as simple or as involved as you like. You might follow the idea closely, take it in a completely different direction, or simply see where it takes you.
There’s no pressure to produce anything amazing, and no need to finish something by the end of the session. The main aim is to have some enjoyable, creative and social time together.

Who is it for?
The group is open to anyone who enjoys being creative, whatever your experience or ability.
You might already make art regularly, be someone who used to draw or paint and wants to get back into it, or simply be curious about trying something new.
You don't need to bring any particular skills – just come along with an open mind and a willingness to have a go.
